ONLINE

Online presentations are here to stay. Even as many school boards get back to a semblance of normalcy; some students are opting to stay online while others have a hybrid of in-person and online learning. Either way, CREATE is able to meet the needs of your school. All of our presentations are available for individual classrooms or for the entire student body.

The most frequent comment we receive from students (and teachers) regarding online learning is – it’s boring. We hear this time and again and it’s certainly not the teacher’s fault. It’s not anyone’s fault. The fact is that the current curriculum was never designed for a two-dimensional online learning experience. In 2020

teachers were forced to become technicians and producers of mandatory content online without any prior training.

The Leadership team at CREATE has presented to over 600,000 students and adults over the past twenty years. Our online presentations are engaging, action-packed, interactive experiences. When Covid-19 restrictions were imposed on schools around the world; Create was uniquely positioned to produce exciting assemblies that can be enjoyed online.

BIOSTACKING

Mental Health has been an important and ever-growing concern over the past number of decades. It effects students, teachers and parents alike. Numerous studies have now been produced demonstrating the negative physiological implications of too much stress. Increased cortisol (the so-called stress hormone) leads to lower grades, dysfunctional relationships, lack of focus and sleep and much more. Even more worrisome is that stress plays a major role in up to 90% of all human diseases. It is the major problem of our time.

To add to this, since the Spring of 2020, students, teachers and parents have all experienced a major increase in stress levels due to Covid-19 restrictions.

In response to this disturbing trend, Create is proud to introduce Biostacking; a scientifically proven way to improve student health and wellness.

The five main areas covered are:

Focused Attention

The ancient practice of meditation is now scientifically proven to be phenomenally advantageous for the overall health of a student.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness, practically known as “living in the now”, can be practiced at anytime, anywhere, by anyone and it promotes relaxation and attention.

Future Visions

Top performers routinely leverage the importance of picturing themselves succeeding in their minds before they accomplish it in reality.

Metacognition

Metacognition is a fancy word that means the process of learning memory techniques and learning strategies.

Recovery

Adequate time for recovery is essential. Proper nutrition, sleep and rest enhances cognitive function, learning, and memory.

(UN)SOCIAL MEDIA

This non-judgemental, thought-provoking presentation challenges students to evaluate their use of social media and its effect on them personally. Empathy, relationships, focus, critical thinking, bullying, time management and much more are all covered during this timely and important group discussion.

NUMERACY WITH A SPIN

Looking for an alternative way to learn math? Create has been on the frontline of engaging students around the world with math concepts being taught using the turntables. Our math assembly directly correlates the music we all love listening to with the math lessons taught in the classroom.

The concepts discussed during this assembly are: ratios, decimals, estimating, multiplication, division and percentages.

RHYTHM ENGINEERS

This Star Wars inspired presentation engages students with the world of coding in DJ technology. Coding is both science and art and has revolutionized the music industry. Learn how music is played off of the vinyl record, the cassette and the CD. We breakdown the MP3, coded vinyl, CDs and the latest coding technology that replaced the turntable needle, which lasted for over a century. Students will meet the “Darth Faders“, “Jog Wheel Clones“, “Knob Troopers” and “Button Jedi’s” in this unforgettable, music infused experience.

DJPRENEURSHIP

Using the music industry as a template, this financial literacy assembly teaches students business concepts that transcend all sectors of commerce. Marketing, budgeting, customer service, corporate governance and more are all covered in a fun, informative and inspirational way. Q&A is vital in this assembly as students have a chance to ask specific “how do I do it” questions.

Students know that all of the “cool stuff” associated with DJing costs money. However, we teach them the profitability of the DJing business, so they know how much money can be made. Again, the fundamentals taught in DJPRENEURSHIP can be used in any area of business.

The program has impacted thousands of students for over a decade and encouraged them to purchase equipment and begin their own entrepreneurial journey. Students learn how to properly spend money to make money. This empowering experience energizes students to feel passionate, creative and ready to go; fully confident in their ability.

4 CORNERS

Today Hip Hop is a multi-billion dollar per year industry? But where did it come from? Why was it created? And most importantly, what can we learn from it?

The 4 Corners Assembly takes students back in time to the Bronx, New York; one of the most inequitable circumstances for people of color. Throughout the 70’s the area was a symbol of urban decay. However, it was from these dire circumstances that Hip Hop was born.

The story of Hip Hop is the story of how a community started to communicate a message of equality to the world. Through decades of suffering, this art form blended and transcended to become a means for seeing, celebrating, experiencing, understanding, confronting, and commenting on life. Hip-Hop became a way of life, inextricably linked to culture for people of color.

The name “4 Corners” comes from the four elements of Hip-Hop culture. They include:

DJing — The artistic handling of beats and music

Mcing, aka Rapping — Putting spoken-word poetry to a beat

Break Dancing—Hip-Hop’s dance form

Graffiti — The painting of highly stylized graffiti

DJ’s are the soul behind the beat that pleases, surprises, and puts people on the dance floor; all while communicating a subtle and powerful message through song. It is that insight, a passionate knowledge of music, and technical know-how that make Djing one of the pillars of Hip-Hop culture.
